Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho is keen to reward youngster Marcus Rashford with a pay rise in his new contract, according to The Sun.

The Red Devils are prepared to increase the 19-year-olds wages with an additional 5,000 to the 20,000-a-week earnings he makes currently.

Rashford, who had a breakthrough in the Premier League last year under Louis van Gaal had apparently fallen out of favour with Mourinho in the beginning of this season.

The Portuguese manager was said to be unsatisfied with the young forwards focus and attitude during training and matches but has since changed his heart by offering him a pay rise.

It is understood that there will also be an option to extend his contract by another 12 months on top of his four-year deal from last summer. This means club could keep hold of the striker until at least 2021.
