Manchester United have reportedly stepped up their efforts to land Brazilian striking sensation Gabriel Barbosa, with The Sun stating that Jose Mourinho’s men have made a £30 million offer for the Santos star.
The 19-year-old, nicknamed Gabigol after stunning displays in his homeland, has been representing Brazil at the Olympic Games this summer.
A host of major clubs are being linked with a move for the South American attacker, who is being tipped to become the latest in a long line of Brazilian forwards to excel in the European game.
The latest report suggests that United are ready to take the initiative in the race to land Barbosa and an offer of £30 million is more than any of the player’s other suitors are willing to pay.

Mourinho has added four new faces to the squad he has inherited from Louis van Gaal, including a world-record deal to land Paul Pogba and the free transfer addition of Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
Where Barbosa would fit in at Old Trafford remains to be seen, with the Portuguese trainer already having prodigious home-grown starlet Marcus Rashford on the fringes of his team.
United may well be tempted to purchase the striker and loan him out elsewhere, before incorporating him into their first-team squad next season.
