Manchester United are close to agreeing a deal to send outcast winger Memphis Depay to Roma on loan for the rest of the season, with Corriere dello Sport claiming that the Dutchman will move to Serie A in January.
The Netherlands international moved to Old Trafford last summer but had a relatively underwhelming inaugural campaign in the Premier League.

Following the exit of former manager and compatriot Louis van Gaal, Depay has found first-team opportunities non-existent under successor Jose Mourinho.
The report suggests that Roma are in the market for a wide player to cover for Mohamed Salah, who will represent Egypt in the African Cup of Nations in the new year.
This will facilitate Depay’s temporary switch to the Stadio Olimpico once the transfer window reopens, with a clause in the deal that the Italians have the option to buy the former PSV Eindhoven star for €25 million (£21 million) at the end of the campaign.
The Netherlands international is behind the likes of Juan Mata, Jesse Lingard, Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford in the battle to win a place on the United flanks.
