Manchester United playmaker Juan Mata has seemingly won over manager Jose Mourinho, with The Mirror reporting that the Spanish midfielder will be offered a new contract in the near future.
The appointment of the Portuguese trainer was seen as the possible end of the schemer’s tenure at Old Trafford, with the former Chelsea boss selling the Spain international during their time together at Stamford Bridge.

It was expected that Mourinho would prefer others in his starting XI this season and that Mata would be a fringe player for the Red Devils.
However, the former Valencia technician has started five of United’s seven Premier League games this season so far and has been in good form for the ambitious outfit.
The report suggests that Mata’s positive performances will be rewarded with a new contract at Old Trafford to secure his future.
It remains to be seen what role the Spaniard will play once summer signing Henrikh Mkhitaryan gets up to speed in the Premier League.
