Both Manchester United and Arsenal are keeping a close eye on young Udinese midfielder Panos Armenakas, according to Tutto Mercato Web.

The 18-year-old starlet is a versatile Australian playmaker that has starred for the Serie A’s primavera squad and reportedly caught the eye of visiting scouts.

Armenakas is of Greek heritage and represented the European nation at under-17’s level before switching his national allegiance to Australia.

Since moving to Europe from Sydney, the teenager has spent time on the books of Brescia and Premier League side Watford also, with a two-year stint at Vicarage Road from 2012 to 2014.

The report suggests that both of the Premier League powerhouses have had rave reviews back on Armenakas and are interested in signing the midfielder to bolster their youth ranks.

Udinese has become a breeding ground for talented young players, with a host of top European clubs boasting for Stadio Friuli favourites in their current ranks – including Arsenal and Alexis Sanchez.
