Eredivisie giants PSV Eindhoven are in talks with Manchester City about agreeing a deal to sign left-back Angelino, according to Voetbalzone.
The defender has been out on loan in the Dutch top flight with NAC Breda, and it appears that his performances have alerted Marcel Brands, the man currently with the champions, but who is set to take the director of football job at Everton imminently.
Before he leaves for Goodison Park he is said to want to get one parting deal over the line for PSV, with Man City left-back the man that is wanted.
The two sides appear to have hit a road block over the price for the 21-year-old though, with the Premier League champions said to want £10 million for him while the Eindhoven outfit only value him at half of that price.
Angelino is yet to make a senior appearance for Man City, and with Benjamin Mendy and Aymeric Laporte as options in that position, with Fabian Delph and Oleksandr Zinchenko capable of filling in when needed, it would take something pretty remarkable for the Spaniard to find any game time, even in the cup competitions.
He has already been sent out on loan on a number of occasions. He first went to New York City FC in Major League Soccer, before a spell out with Girona where he never played a game, and then Mallorca. He spent the campaign that just concluded with NAC Breda, where he made 23 appearances in all competitions and made a big impression.
PSV are determined to find a left-back to replace the outgoing Santiago Arias, and they certainly appear to have identified the man they want to take over in that position from him.
Unfortunately for them though, it appears there is still a bit of negotiating to do before any deal is agreed, and with time running out before Brands heads for Everton, it remains to be seen if any move will be completed at all.
