Manchester City will be without a number of their key stars when they host Hoffenheim on Wednesday evening at the Etihad Stadium, according to the club’s official website.
David Silva has become the latest blow for Pep Guardiola’s side as he will need to spend time on the sidelines.
The Spanish playmaker picked up a hamstring injury in their defeat to Chelsea at the weekend and could now be set to miss the next couple of weeks.
His injury will have come at an untimely moment for the Citizens, as the festive period starts to kick in and games begin to come thick and fast.
Man City also have the likes of Kevin De Bruyne, Sergio Aguero, Danilo, Benjamin Mendy and Claudio Bravo already unavailable, with Guardiola claiming he has just 15 senior players available.
The Premier League outfit are already through to the next round of the Champions League and the Citizens could look to use the game as an opportunity for some of their younger talent to get minutes in a big competition.
However, Guardiola may also want to use the match against Hoffenheim to get his side back to winning ways after they suffered their first league defeat at the weekend.
