Fabregas was not in the match-day squad for the 3-0 win over Leicester City last weekend and talk in the media is that the 28-year-old will leave Stamford Bridge in one of the next two transfer windows.
Guardiola knows the creative midfielder well and brought the gifted technician back to boyhood club in 2011 for £35 million.
It was after the now City boss left Camp Nou that Fabregas’ fortunes dipped before the Catalans sold him to Chelsea in 2014.
The report suggests that Guardiola is eyeing up a bargain deal for his compatriot when the transfer window reopens, which would add even more creativity to the Etihad Stadium ranks.
