Leicester City came from behind to see off Everton 2-1 at the King Power Stadium on Sunday afternoon, and after the match their fans took to social media to react to an unlikely hero in the contest.
The Foxes went into the clash in excellent form, and with their opponents flattering to deceive, the home side were expected to pick up another comfortable win, as they look to cling onto the coattails of Liverpool at the top of the Premier League table.
Leicester boss Brendan Rodgers named an unchanged side for the sixth successive outing, but he soon saw his side fall behind, as Everton changed formation to good effect with Richarlison heading them in front.
The Foxes went in at half time behind, and were still trailing when Kelechi Iheanacho entered the fray with around 25 minutes remaining.
The Nigeria international, who has struggled in his spell with Leicester thus far, made an instant impression, crossing for Jamie Vardy to tap home the equaliser.
As the minutes ticked down, it appeared as though the Foxes would drop points for the first time in six matches, however Iheanacho did not read that script, and after he was put through, he twisted and turned past Mason Holgate to fire Rodgers’ men to a potentially huge win in their season.
Many Leicester fans had given up on the Nigerian after he struggled to make any sort of impression in his stay at the King Power Stadium thus far, but some are left changing their mind about the attacker after this display.
This was the first time the former Manchester City player had given off any indication that he has the necessary credentials to make an impact, and he did so when he and his team needed it the most, much to the delight of the Foxes supporters, plenty of whom took to social media to acknowledge his performance.
