Liverpool are reportedly interested in Switzerland International defender Fabian Schar, according to The Daily Star.
The 24-year-old Hoffenheim centre-back is believed to have been on Arsenal’s radar for some years and would cost the Reds in the region of £9 million.
Despite his young age, Schar has a wealth of experience having won three consecutive Swiss Super League titles before moving to Germany, as well as representing his country at the 2012 Olympic Games, 2014 FIFA World Cup and UEFA Euro 2016.

The paper claims that Jurgen Klopp has been a long term admirer of the former FC Basel man and sent scouts to watch him for his national side against Hungary and Andorra.
Liverpool currently have Dejan Lovren and Joel Matip as their first-choice central defenders but rumours are gathering that the Premier League side want to add more competition and depth in this position.
However, with reports claiming the Schar’s current employers aren’t willing to sell in January, the Merseysiders may have to wait until the summer to land their man.
