Liverpool will be able to call upon Roberto Firmino for their Champions League final with Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday afternoon, according to the club’s official website.
Jurgen Klopp has confirmed that the Brazil international is fit and has trained ahead of the game after last featuring a month ago.
However, the manager stopped short of revealing whether Firmino would be starting the match against Spurs.
In his press conference (via the club’s official website), he said: “Yes, he’s ready. If he will start… if Poch afterwards says his exact line-up then call me and I will tell you our line-up as well.
“If not, then I thought I’d keep at least a few question marks open. He’s fit, he’s trained, he’s here.”
The news that the South American is available will have come at an encouraging time as it means Klopp will have the luxury of being able to select from a near-fully fit squad.
Only Naby Keita is unavailable for the clash at the Estadio Wanda Metropolitano in Madrid after being ruled out with a thigh injury he picked up earlier in the tournament when they came face-to-face with Barcelona in the semi-finals.
Liverpool will want to put any nightmares of last season’s disaster firmly in the back of their minds and will be feeling a little more confident that they can get a result on Saturday evening.
Alisson Becker has looked assured in between the sticks in his debut campaign with the Anfield outfit, whilst Virgil van Dijk has gone from strength-to-strength over the last 18 months.
If the Reds can overcome their Premier League rivals, they will be celebrating their sixth Champions League trophy.
Klopp will be looking to win his first trophy for Liverpool after two failed final attempts in Europe after defeat in the Europa League to Sevilla in 2016 and Real Madrid last season.
