Newly crowned Premier League Champions Liverpool will face off against Brighton in a league clash at the AMEX Stadium on Wednesday.
The Reds will now be aiming to surpass Manchester City’s all-time points record of 100 in the Premier League.
Liverpool require another 12 points to do so from the five remaining games.
The Reds will thus need to win at least four out of their last five remaining fixtures.
Based on their form throughout the campaign, one would back the Merseysiders to do this. However, their form has declined during their previous two games.
Liverpool followed up their 4-0 rout at the hands of Manchester City with a hard-fought 2-0 win over Aston Villa.
The Reds were made to work hard by the relegation-threatened club and only opened the scoring during the second half.
Many felt that the Villains were hard done by and deserved at least a point from the game.
Liverpool are set to make fitness checks on James Milner and Dejan Lovren ahead of the game, according to their official website.
Milner had to miss the game against the Villains due to a muscle issue.
Lovren has missed his team’s last two matches through injury. The report added that defender Joel Matip is set to miss out the remainder of the season due to injury.
Xherdan Shaqiri, who returned to action during the game against Villa, could potentially be set to receive more minutes.
Liverpool will be favourites and won the reverse fixture 2-1 in November.
