“There’s a reason he is called the Magician [by Liverpool fans],” Tite told his press conference, as reported in The Daily Mail.
“It was a difficult decision for me, but right now this is Coutinho’s moment. And in football, you have to follow the moment.”
The former Inter Milan midfielder has been in sparkling form for the Reds this season, scoring three goals and providing two assists in their opening seven Premier League fixtures.
Coutinho was also instrumental from the bench in Brazil’s recent qualifying wins over Ecuador and Colombia.
Liverpool fans will no doubt be pleased that their talisman is finally getting the international recognition that he deserves.
However, they will be hoping he can come through both matches unscathed, with the club’s crucial clash against fierce rivals Manchester United coming up at Anfield on October 17.
With that fixture on the horizon, Coutinho could be entering the biggest two weeks of his career so far, both domestically and on the international stage.
