Arsenal, Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur are among several Premier League sides keen on signing Blackburn Rovers’ 17-year-old midfielder Vilius Piliukaitis, according to the Team Talk website.
The Lithuania Under-17 international moved to Ewood Park from FK Panevezys this summer on an initial loan deal.
Piliukaitis has recently broken into the Rovers Under-18 team, scoring in both of his most recent matches against Manchester City and West Bromwich Albion.
His first outing was against Liverpool, one of many clubs understood to be keeping a close eye on his situation.
Both Manchester clubs as well as Chelsea are also rumoured to be admirers of the youngster.
Team Talk report that Blackburn have an option to sign Piliukaitis but it seems unlikely that he would turn down the chance to move to a Premier League club and allow Rovers to keep him on their books.
He was a known quantity to Liverpool and Spurs before he headed to Lancashire but they missed out on signing him in the summer.
They will be keen not to pass up a second opportunity although they look set to face more competition for his signature this time.
During his time with Blackburn, he has been deployed as both a central midfielder and in a more attacking role.
Piliukaitis has proved he has an eye for goal with a brace against West Brom and it is easy to see why other clubs want to sign him.
With so many sides involved, it could turn into a bidding war with Team Talk claiming Liverpool and Spurs are prepared to battle each other for his services.
Piliukaitis may well have those destinations in mind – along with Arsenal – as the best ones to further his development as fewer youngsters are given opportunities at either Manchester club or Chelsea.
