Key Liverpool playmaker Philippe Coutinho has revealed that his rehabilitation from injury is going well and that he hopes to be fit enough to feature for the Reds against Manchester City on New Years Eve.
The Brazil international is one of the Premier League’s most-gifted players and has had a blistering start to the new campaign.

However, Coutinho picked up a serious injury in the recent win against Sunderland and has been out of action since.
Liverpool’s form has stuttered since the South American’s unavailability, with the Merseyside outfit hoping that the former Inter Milan star will be back on the pitch soon.
Coutinho has given an update on his injury situation and stated that he is targeting the clash with City to make a return.
“This is still my hope – to return for this game,” he told the club’s official website.
“The rehab is going really well. I can now walk without crutches and I am working well with the medical team. So I’m pleased with how I am recovering.”
Coutinho formed an enviable attacking trident with Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane in the early stages of the season that powered Liverpool to the top of the Premier League.
With the Senegalese speedster set for the African Cup of Nations in January, having the Brazil international back available would be a major boost.
