Friday night’s highly anticipated Premier League clash between Chelsea and Liverpool has a number of interesting sub-plots – but none quite so alluring as the return of David Luiz.
With Blues captain John Terry injured and unable to play, Antonio Conte has confirmed that the eccentric Brazilian centre-half will be given the nod to deputise.

Luiz is well-liked among the Chelsea fans for his passion, ability on the ball and record of coming up with a goal, but his defensive abilities continue to offer an opportunity to his team’s opposition.
With Liverpool’s options in the final third as dangerous as any team in the Premier League and the Reds in form, Jurgen Klopp will surely want to unleash the likes of Roberto Firmino, Sadio Mane and Daniel Sturridge on the debutant.
The Anfield outfit’s fans are seemingly almost as excited about Luiz making his Chelsea return as the Stamford Bridge faithful, with the Merseyside supporters predicting their side’s slick attack will guarantee a difficult evening for the South American.
Here are the best tweets from Liverpool fans on Luiz’s reintroduction ahead of the Premier League clash.
David Luiz will get a good welcome back tonight from the red arrows.
