Henderson is an integral man for the Anfield outfit; not only is he the side’s talisman, leader and defensive shield in midfield, the latest figures show he is a major source of the team’s distribution.
Although the attacking trident of Roberto Firmino, Philippe Coutinho and Sadio Mane have been gaining most of the plaudits, the England international clearly has been providing these stars with the ball.
Henderson has made 589 passes in the seven games so far; 85 more than the second-place Cazorla.
Arsenal have competition for places in central midfield, so much so that Jack Wilshere has been farmed out on loan.
However, Cazorla is an ever-present when available and the creative force behind the Gunners’ scintillating play in the final third.
The former Malaga man has dropped deeper in the last 12 months and the passing stats show his impact, with 504 passes to date this season.
