Leicester City will have an emotional reunion with their Premier League title winning manager on Wednesday evening, when they head to Craven Cottage to face Claudio Ranieri and his Fulham side, and they will assess the fitness of a key man ahead of the game.
The Italian will forever be popular with the Foxes fans, and it will be weird for them to watch their team come up against him, but that will go out of the window during a tricky looking test for the King Power Stadium outfit.
Leicester arrive at the capital in good form having picked up all three points against Watford in front of their own fans on Saturday afternoon, and they will be hoping for a quick-fire double against London opposition on Wednesday.
Claude Puel has the Foxes playing some nice stuff at the minute, but he could be without his main striker for the game, as Jamie Vardy will be assessed to see if he is over a groin issue in time. He updated the situation with the forward ahead of the game.
“For the moment, I don’t know my starting line-up because I have some problems with different players.” The Foxes official website quotes him as saying.
“I will see tomorrow, but I cannot say the players who have the problems. We will see who is available to play this match. [Vardy] felt something, but I will see with our medical staff.”
The Frenchman is also expected to be without Harry Maguire, Rachid Ghezzal and Matty James when he takes his Leicester team to face their former boss.
The trio are all back in training but this match could come too soon, which will be a blow for the Foxes heading into the game, although they showed on Saturday they are not lacking in squad depth in their absence.
