Leicester City boss Brendan Rodgers is reportedly interested in signing Hull City star Jarrod Bowen, according to a report published by The Sun.
The 22-year-old has been one of the shining stars in the English second-tier so far this season and has so far scored 21 goals from 42 League appearances, recording four assists in the process.
Reported Leicester target Bowen is also well-disciplined on the field and has picked up just one yellow card all season.
He has the mental attitude and abilities to compete in the top-flight. With the Tigers looking unlikely to challenge for promotion this season, he may well be tempted by top-flight offers that come his way this summer.
The report added that Leicester have been watching Bowen over the past two months. The club’s manager Rodgers believes that the player could be a good asset to the club’s attack alongside the Jamie Vardy.
Leicester may well need new attacking players this summer. The future of James Maddison is the subject of speculation with the English youngster being linked with moves to Champions League worthy clubs.
The report claimed that a move for Bowen could set the Foxes back around £15 million. Such a value in today’s market for a Premier League club would represent a bargain. If Maddison does indeed end up leaving the King Power Stadium this summer, it is likely that he will be sold for more than double this figure.
Leicester have been suffering from inconsistency this summer and they need to make some smart additions this summer if they want to challenge for a solid finish on the top half of the standings next term.
