Leicester City were knocked out of the FA Cup in extra time when they were beaten 2-1 by Chelsea at the King Power Stadium, but fans were ecstatic with the performance from one of their attackers on social media.

Claude Puel’s men started brightly in the first half and had a number of opportunities to go in front, with Marc Albrighton and Wes Morgan have decent chances in the opening 15 minutes.

However, the Foxes were made to pay for their missed efforts late in the first half when Alvaro Morata struck the ball into the bottom corner.

Puel’ side got back into the game in the second half when Jamie Vardy finished a rebound from a Willy Caballero save, sending the game into extra time.

Leicester looked good throughout the 90 minutes and would have been confident they could compete to get a result against the current Premier League champions, however, an error cost them in the first half of the additional 30 minutes.

N’Golo Kante whipped a ball into the penalty area which Pedro had met to head home, after a goalkeeping error from Kasper Schmeichel who had decided to come for the ball and failed to get anywhere near it.

Fans were disappointed not to progress to the next round of the competition and seal a date at Wembley Stadium, however, they were pleased with the performance of Albrighton.

Supporters took to Twitter to state their happiness with the winger, who had come into the side for Demarai Gray and stated that he had worked his socks off, whilst many feel he should be in the England squad in the future.

Here are some of their reactions:
