Leicester City shocked and saddened many football supporters last week when the club confirmed that they had parted company with manager Claudio Ranieri.
The Italian, who took the Foxes to their first ever Premier League title, and the last 16 of the Champions League, was axed following his side’s 2-1 defeat to Spanish giants Sevilla – not an embarrassing result considering the La Liga side’s current form.

But it seemed that the defeat was the final straw for the King Power Stadium’s owner Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha, and now it is possible that the Thai chairman could be prepared for a shock u-turn to reunite ex-boss Nigel Pearson with the hot seat.
The 53-year-old is famed for steering Leicester to Championship promotion in 2014, and rescuing the relegation favourites from the drop in the following campaign – with a run that consisted of seven wins from the last nine games of the season.
But the Englishman left the the midlands club just five weeks later after his already icy relationship with the club’s owners reached breaking point.
That paved the way for Ranieri to come into the club and do the unthinkable, but with an exit from England’s elite league very much a reality, it seems Leicester are prepared to take the manager back who built the foundations of the greatness that followed.
Foxes fans, as well as others, have taken to Twitter to voice their opinion of the possible shock return. Here are some of the best tweets.
Whilst I appreciate what Pearson did for Leicester City I don't think it's the direction we should be going in. #LCFC

If #Leicester go from Ranieri to Pearson, then they deserve relegation. Talk about going backwards 😳

Wouldn't mind seeing Pearson at Leicester. Became a bit of a legend in the Brannon household during his last stint.

I'm really hoping that Nigel Pearson comes back in at Leicester and is allowed to finish the job he started: taking them down 😂

I'll always support Leicester. I thank the owners for all they've done during the last 7 years. But, please, do NOT re-hire Pearson. #LCFC

So Leicester might reappoint Pearson? Hoping for his great escape again, then reappoint Ranieri in summer and go through the miracle again?

Nigel Pearson built that title winning Leicester team and started their momentum but unlike CR, attitude stinks and would've evntly crumbled

Sacking Ranieri will not resolve anything at Leicester unless they bring back Pearson AGAIN, he kept them up and got them winning again!!

Leicester would have improved if Pearson had stayed but they wouldn't have won the League. That's the reality #LCFC

Nigel Pearson, sacked by Derby County when 20th in the Championship, is reportedly Leicester players' choice to replace Ranieri. OK, then…
