Leicester City defender Christian Fuchs has been linked with a reunion with the man whom he won the Premier League title under, according to Leicestershire Live.
Claudio Ranieri gave the Austrian one of the best moments of his career when he guides the Foxes to championship success, and now the two could link up again at Craven Cottage, if the Italian gets his way.
Leicester manager Claude Puel is known for wanting to work with younger players and shape them into his style, so it is perhaps no surprise that Ben Chilwell has overtaken Fuchs in the pecking order at the King Power Stadium.
The Austrian defender is out of contract with the Foxes in the summer, where he is expected to leave the club, and while a long-term option at Fulham could be on the cards, it is thought that the 32-year-old will move to the MLS in the summer, as his family is based in America.
Ranieri knows that if he is going to keep his Cottagers side in the Premier League, he needs to make a significant amount of signings in this transfer window, and he could use Fuchs as a short-term fix before addressing his options in the summer.
Leicester are unlikely to step in the way of the Austria international, with their replacement for him already in place. If his wages come off the budget then Puel will be able to bring another player in to battle with Chilwell for a place in the side.
Fuchs has been deliberating changing sports completely should he move to America, with the Foxes veteran keen to explore a career as a kicker in the NFL when his contract runs down in the summer.
If Ranieri gets his man, the Austrian may have played his final match for Leicester, which means another one of their title winning heroes will have headed for pastures new.
