Leicester City suffered a home reversal when they went down 2-1 to Everton at the King Power Stadium on Saturday afternoon, and one man felt the brunt of their criticism on social media after the match.
The Foxes will have gone into the contest with their spirits high after managing to win at Newcastle last weekend, but they were always on the back foot against the Toffees.
Everton took the lead at the King Power after just seven minutes when Richarlison put them ahead, and although Ricardo Pereira had levelled just before half time, the Merseyside outfit won it with a blistering strike from Gylfi Sigurdsson in the final 15 minutes.
Prior to that goal from the Icelandic midfielder, the match turned when Leicester saw their captain Wes Morgan dismissed for the second time in three matches.
He was sent off for two bookings just after the hour mark, having been given a final warning moments earlier, and there is no doubt that had a major effect on their chances of getting something from the match.
Morgan will always be remembered as the man who hoisted the Premier League trophy for the Foxes, but there have been signs in recent outings that suggest that the Jamaica international could just be starting to fade as a force at top flight level.
Leicester will now be without their influential skipper for the next two matches, and it remains to be seen whether he will get his place back in the side, with the likes of Jonny Evans waiting to come in and be a regular feature.
Foxes fans were pretty scathing in their assessment of Morgan’s performance against Everton, with many believing that although he will always be one of their heroes, his time could be up.
Here are the pick of their twitter posts:
Another red for Morgan. To me this proves his legs have gone. If it was Morgan of 3/4 years ago, he wouldn’t have got sent off with persistent fouling. All down to him losing a yard or two in pace. #lcfc

I wouldn't just drop wes Morgan, I'd terminate his contract, not good enough to get in to any of our squads #lcfc

For the record, I don’t hate Morgan, he’s just well past it. If Puel insists on playing him then at least try a back 3 to provide some extra cover. #LCFC

Thanks for the memories Morgan but it's time to sit back. £60m on defenders and everyone thought he would be phased out and play cup competitions but he's got sent off twice in four games. Wake up Claude before it's your job #LCFC

Pitting Wes Morgan against Richarlison was cruel. That is a sad way for a Premiership winning captain to bow out. #LCFC

Sticking by what I said a few weeks ago. Morgan will cost Puel his job. #LCFC

Time for Morgan to step back, too slow now. Been a hero, lifted the premiership trophy as captain (many haven’t), but time for alternatives now #Lcfc
