Leeds United are set to play against Brentford on Monday in a Championship game that will take place at Griffin Park. The Whites will need to bounce back after losing their last game 2-1 against Wigan Athletic.
The result meant that Marcelo Bielsa’s Leeds side dropped down to third position on the second-tier standings and outside the automatic promotion places.
Leeds currently have 82 points after 43 games and are behind second place Sheffield United only on goal difference. A victory for Bielsa’s side against the Bees could see them move back into second position.
While Leeds have performed better than Brentford this season, the Bees are one of the sides that they have struggled to breakdown during the recent past.
Thomas Frank’s side are currently unbeaten against the Whites during their past nine games in all competitions.
Leeds have also managed just seven goals against the Bees during their past 11 league meetings.
Brentford are currently in good form at home, having won nine out of their past 12 games at Griffin Park in all competitions. This should be a cracking game and Bielsa’s Leeds side will have to attack from the onset.
The last time that the two sides met in the Championship came last October at Elland Road and ended in a 1-1 draw.
Leeds captain Liam Cooper is set to miss a third consecutive game due to a muscle injury, according to a report published by the BBC Sport.
Gaetano Berardi is expected to fill in for Cooper once again. Left-back Barry Douglas is out for the long-term after having suffered a knee problem.
