Leeds United will look to build on their impressive 3-1 win over Stoke City last week when the Whites head to take on Frank Lampard’s Derby County on Saturday evening.
The Rams also began their campaign with a win, ousting Reading 2-1 at the Madejski Stadium – and Marcelo Bielsa’s side will go into a tough game with one major injury concern.
Northern Ireland international Stuart Dallas, who was on the Leeds bench in the win over the Potters, has been ruled out for two weeks due to a thigh injury, according to the club’s official website.
Bielsa was delighted with the opening day performance and the former Argentina boss has confirmed he will name an unchanged lineup – something that will come as a disappointment to new Whites striker Patrick Bamford.
The forward arrived at Leeds for £7 million from Middlesbrough this summer but is yet to make a start under the former Lille coach, something he will be hoping is not a common occurrence.
Bamford will be joined on the bench by fellow new arrivals Lewis Baker, Jack Harrison and Jamal Blackman – leaving Leeds with plenty of options to make an impact if needs be.
Another victory for Bielsa’s men would ramp up excitement in the travelling support, with the ultimate aim of getting promoted to the Premier League this season.
