Leeds United look set to miss out on midfield target Oliver Norwood, with Hull City closing in on a deal for the Brighton and Hove Albion man, according to The Sun.
The Whites have been consistently linked with the Northern Ireland international over the last few days, with belief in many corners that the 27-year-old could be Marcelo Bielsa’s final permanent summer signing.
However, Leeds look set to lose out on Norwood as the latest report suggests Hull and in talks with Brighton over a potential fee.
The Premier League club are asking for £1.5 million, according to the report, with the Tigers hoping to complete a deal for the midfielder before the transfer window closes at 5pm.
Leeds have the need for an additional midfielder after Ronaldo Vieira left the club to join Sampdoria, while lynchpin Adam Forshaw currently on the injury list.
Norwood’s experience and passing ability would have boosted Marcelo Bielsa’s squad but it looks although the Northern Irishman will be heading to Hull instead.
