Leeds United play host to Sheffield United in the Championship on Saturday afternoon and they could have one of their star players back, according to their official website.
The Whites have the chance to return to the top of the table for a few hours, with them playing in the lunchtime kick off, with a win over the Blades firing them back to the summit, so they will not lack for motivation in front of a passionate Elland Road crowd.
Leeds go into the contest off the back of three successive victories and have kept clean sheets in all of those outings, and another game like that would have them in a fine position to achieve automatic promotion from.
Marcelo Bielsa’s men will know that they need to be at their best against the Blades, as Chris Wilder’s side will go above them if they leave Elland Road with the three points, and take the Whites’ fortunes out of their own hands.
Leeds will be boosted by the news that Jack Clarke is available. The young attacker has been out recently with injury, but he played for the under-23s in midweek, and has come through that with no new issues and is set to be involved against Sheffield United.
Bielsa has no other injury concerns to his squad for what is arguably the biggest match of the Whites’ season, so it could be that he names the same side to the one which eased past Reading in midweek.
Leeds have been flying high in the Championship this term, and have been promotion candidates throughout the season, so it would be disappointing if they get beat in this game and drop out of the top two at such a vital stage of the campaign.
The return of Clarke could be the catalyst to take them up another gear and ensure that there is no falling away down the final stretch.
