Leeds United could still bring striker Moussa Konate to Elland Road despite the transfer window now being shut, according to French outlet Get French Football News Now.
The earliest summer transfer deadline day came on Thursday at 5pm, as Marcelo Bielsa was left frustrated as he failed to get a number of deals over the line.
Leeds have been given a boost in their pursuit of a striker though, as the agent of Konate admitted the forward is ‘open to a move to England’.
Despite the window being shut, EFL clubs can still bring players in on loan until the end of August meaning the Senegal international could still end up at Elland Road.
The Aimens attacker found the net 14 times in all competitions last season after making a move from FC Sion, and was close to joining Leeds in a £6million deal before the window closed.
Konate made exactly 100 appearances for his former club, leaving with 38 goals to his name and attracting attention from a number of Premier League clubs.
The 25-year-old featured in two of Senegal’s World Cup fixtures back in June, as they defeated Poland and were beaten by Columbia.
Leeds got their Championship campaign off to the perfect start last week, with a comfortable victory at home to Stoke City.
Mateusz Klich, Pablo Hernandez and Liam Cooper were all on the score sheet in the 3-1 win, as they stunned their recently relegated opponents.
Next up for Leeds is the trip to Pride Park as they take on Frank Lampard’s Derby County, who also started their campaign with a victory.
