Leeds United striker Pierre-Michel Lasogga could be available for their clash with Birmingham City on Tuesday night, according to respected journalist Adam Pope on Twitter.
The German star played a huge role in the 5-0 win over Burton Albion at the weekend. He scored twice on his debut and had Whites fans raving about his quality and the impact he made.
There were doubts over whether Lasogga would be available for that match as his partner is expected to have their child imminently. The new signing declared himself able to feature on Saturday, and on the eve of the match he is in the squad for the Birmingham contest, although that could change at any moment.
The 25-year-old opened the scoring at Elland Road before rounding off the victory with the fifth goal of the afternoon, and Thomas Christiansen will be hoping to be able to call upon the German once again.
The Danish boss will also have the options of starting with Eunan O’Kane and Vurnon Anita despite them both leaving the match with Burton prematurely with injuries. They have both been passed fit to feature as Leeds go in search of a fifth successive win in all competitions.
He will have to do without Matthew Pennington for at least one more match though. The on loan Everton defender remains out with injury, although he could be back within the next week.
That may lead to Christiansen offering a recall to Manchester United loanee Cameron Borthwick-Jackson, who the Leeds boss suggested has been left out due to circumstances that could be faced in each game.
Leeds welcome Birmingham on Tuesday evening, in front of what is expected to be a large crowd, with the home fans hoping their side can get the win which could take them to the top of the table should Cardiff City slip up at Preston.
