Leeds United slipped out of the Championship play-off positions for the first time in almost five months after a 1-0 home loss to Wolverhampton Wanderers on Monday.
Garry Monkĺs team appeared sluggish from the outset and fell behind to a Nouha Dicko goal in the 38th minute, the striker scuffing a low shot first time past keeper Robert Green.
No excuses today, but play-off bid is still in our hands. I'm 100% confident these players will give everything in the final 3 games. #MOT

Before that, the former England stopper had denied Andreas Weimann one-on-one and tipped a Dave Edwards header wide as Wolves looked the more comfortable of the two sides in the opening period.
Chasing the game after the break, Leeds did fashion a few half chances but were met with dogged defending from the visitors, who had lost two on the bounce coming into this one.
Andy Lonergan was in fine form between the sticks, producing a smart save from Souleymane Doukaraĺs header as the home side pushed on in the second half.
However, they were unable to break down their opponents and the result meant that the Elland Road outfit slipped to seventh, behind both Fulham and Sheffield Wednesday.
With their two promotion rivals set to meet on the final day of the season, Leedsĺ fate is still in their own hands; three wins will be enough to seal a top-six finish, but it is looking a lot less likely than just a month ago.
Fans on Twitter were understandably concerned at an abject performance, with the best of the reaction below:
We need 2wins & probably a draw so do we risk jansson getting a booking at Burton so he comes back for 2nd leg playoff??? #lufc

We won 3 in a row for the only time this season against wolves. BURTON, AND NORWICH? Coincidence? Or fate? #lufc

So, three straight league wins, a two leg play off victory, then a win at Wembley – that'd put this team firmly into #LUFC folklore…

Seriously #lufc why can't we just do things the boring way this one time and have a play-off place sorted by now, killing me here lads.
