Leeds United missed the chance to close the gap on the Championship’s top teams on Saturday as Garry Monk’s men struggled to break Queens Park Rangers down in a 0-0 draw at Elland Road.
The Whites sit sit in fourth place in the standings, but Fulham’s shock win over Newcastle United means that the current top six are by no means guaranteed a play-off place this season.
Monk admitted after the game that he did not feel that Leeds were their usual energetic and positive selves, with a slightly flat display surely a worry for the Elland Road faithful.
Much of the chatter on social media after the game focussed on Whites captain Liam Bridcutt, who was awarded the man of the match for his performance.
Despite this, a section of the Leeds fans were not happy with the former Sunderland man against QPR, with common complaints including the fact he played too deep and that his distribution was not always accurate.
Some called for Bridcutt to be dropped for the side’s next game, with a number of other alternatives for Monk to consider.

Captain or not, Bridcutt needs to be dropped. #LUFC

Bridcutt sits far too deep for me. Not needed with such competent, ball playing centre halves #lufc

Thought Bridcutt was good in spells today, poor in controlling midfield. His stats please?

Bridcutt, Vieira, Pablo, Sacko playing nowhere near the standard they were. #lufc

Yes, I agree, the team being as one is important. But it's clear to me that Bridcutt and Vieira are well off their games ATM

Leeds midfield was diabolical. What's happened to Hernandez and Bridcutt?!

bridcutt's had a bad few weeks, gives away too cheaply. Vierra and Okane for me next game ðŸ‘ðŸ¼

As others have alluded too on here. I think Bridcutt is the problem. He plays as a 3rd centre back at times. We lack numbers going forward.

bridcutt too deep, needs to get up pitch 20 yards – let cb's pass to full backs if must.
