Leeds United have confirmed on their official website that a deal to send Caleb Ekuban to Turkish side Trabzonspor on a season-long loan deal has been completed.

The hard-working striker has struggled to make a lasting impression since signing for the Yorkshire side from Chievo Verona last summer, with injuries also taking their toll.

New Leeds manager Marcelo Bielsa clearly feels Ekuban is surplus to requirements after the big-money capture of Patrick Bamford and the sublime early-season form of Kemar Roofe.

The 24-year-old will get a chance to get his career back on track in Turkey, where the Whites fans will hope that he is given an opportunity to play regularly.

Following the club’s announcement, the Leeds supporters have taken to Twitter to express their opinions on the move.

Most of the Elland Road faithful were complimentary about Ekuban and wished him the best of luck at Trabzonspor, while others were happy to see the back of him – here are the best tweets.
