Leeds United produced a fine performance to beat Reading 3-0 in the Championship on Tuesday night thanks to a brace of goals from Pablo Hernandez.

The Spaniard struck twice before half-time to establish a three-goal lead for the Whites and they eased to victory at the Madejski Stadium.

Hernandez has now scored 10 goals for Leeds this season – only Kemar Roofe has netted more often – and fans of the club were delighted with his performance.

Mateusz Klich scored the opening goal for the Whites in the 14th minute to set the visitors on their way.

Hernandez’s first was a low shot that flew in off the post and his second was a spectacular effort from outside the box.

The result lifted Leeds back to the top of the table, one point clear of second-placed Norwich City and two clear of Sheffield United, their next opponents.

Whites fans took to social media after the match and were quick to praise Hernandez, who has been in fine form for the Yorkshire side in recent weeks.

He created several further chances and missed an opportunity to complete a hat-trick himself late in the game.

However, Leeds fans did not begrudge him that and were delighted with Hernandez on a night which saw them lay down a clear marker to the rest of the division.

He also elicited praise from fans of other clubs, some of whom were questioning why a player of such talent is not playing in a higher division.

Here is a selection of tweets from Leeds fans.
