Leeds United were beaten 2-1 in a Yorkshire derby with Sheffield United, leaving many of their fans angry at the performances of some of their players on social media.

Thomas Christiansen’s side lost a crucial match in front of an expectant Elland Road crowd, and things did not start well for The Whites.

Billy Sharp came to haunt his former club on Halloween, after he scored a header past Andy Lonergan in the second minute of the game, however, a strike from Kalvin Phillips levelled things ten minutes from the break.

Both teams looked to be going for a result throughout the match, with Samuel Saiz striking the post on the hour-mark, but the arrival of David Brooks into the game gave the Blades all three points.

The young striker netted his first goal for the club, making it look as though he had scored a hundred in his career already, putting Chris Wilder’s side top of the Championship.

Leeds’ form is currently mixed, with the Elland Road outfit starting their season in impressive fashion, however, a run of defeats had left them sitting outside the play-off spots briefly, before their 3-0 victory over Bristol City last weekend, taking them back to fourth.

The fans were understandably disappointed to lose a game of that magnitude, especially to a rival as close as United are, and took to social media to vent their frustrations, with one player picking up the majority of the criticism.

Pierre-Michel Lassoga appeared to take the brunt of it on Twitter, with many believing he had not offered anything during the game with some stating that he is awful.
