Leeds United star Pontus Jansson has been named as the PFA Fans’ Championship Player of the Month for December, report Sky Sports.
The defender received over half of the 17,000 votes cast following a series of imperious displays for the Yorkshire club.

Jansson beat Brighton & Hove Albion striker Glenn Murray into second place, with Fulham midfielder Stefan Johansen finishing third.
Leeds enjoyed a successful end to 2016, picking up four wins from six matches in the final month of the year whilst keeping six clean sheets in the process.
Their Swedish centre-back has epitomised the revival of the side under Garry Monk’s management as they sit fifth in the Championship table.
As well as being instrumental at the back throughout December, Jansson popped up with a goal against Aston Villa and provided an assist in the 4-1 drubbing of Preston North End.
Currently on a season-long loan from Torino, the 25-year-old has expressed his desire to sign permanently for the Whites.
Fans may not have to wait too long for that to become a reality, as Jansson’s agent recently told Swedish football channel Fotbollskanalen that once he reaches 22 games he will trigger a permanent move.
This means that the Sweden international’s transfer could be officially announced as soon as January 13, when Leeds face Derby County in the Championship.
