Leeds United seemingly face competition in their reported efforts to land Claudio Ranieri as their next manager, with Crystal Palace also interested in the Italian, according to The Sun.
The Elland Road outfit are in the market for a new trainer after Garry Monk sensationally walked away from the Championship club last month.
In recent days, Ranieri’s odds have dropped as Aitor Karanka looks set to be overlooked, with the Leeds fans on Twitter dreaming of the former Leicester City man becoming their new manager.
Palace are a club without direction at this moment in time as Sam Allardyce resigned from the Selhurst Park post at the end of the Premier League season.
While Burnley boss Sean Dyche has also been linked, Ranieri’s track record would make him an exciting option for the Eagles.
If Palace’s interest in the Italian is concrete, Leeds will surely have to look to other targets as the manager would most-likely pick a Premier League club over one in the Championship.
Leeds have ambitions of making it back to the top tier of English football, with this summer’s managerial appointment set to be critical in the club’s hopes of achieving it.
