Everton manager Ronald Koeman has stated that Toffees trio Maarten Stekelenburg, James McCarthy and Bryan Oviedo will all miss the side’s Premier League clash with Hull City on Friday night.

The trio join long-term absentees Yannick Bolasie and Muhamed Besic on the treatment table for the fixture at the KCOM Stadium.

Stekelenburg was hurt in the Merseyside derby against Liverpool earlier this month and Joel Robles will deputise for the Dutch custodian.

The former Wigan Athletic goalkeeper put in a strong performance for Everton in the 2-0 win over Leicester City last time out and is set to retain his place.

“I was really pleased by the performance of Joel against Leicester,” Koeman told the club’s official website.

“Stekelenburg has not yet joined training and won’t be available.

“Stekelenburg is not running yet. His dead leg is still painful and we need to wait until he is fully ready to join training. Maybe it will be in two or three days’ time, but he is not yet ready.”

Koeman stated that McCarthy has returned to team training following a hamstring strain but would not be available for the clash with Hull.

“He is starting training out of the group, but it will take maybe 10 more days until he’s fit to come back for the team,” the Everton boss added.

With Hull toiling in the lower reaches of the Premier League table, Friday night’s clash is one that the travelling support demand their side win.

Koeman’s men have been inconsistent so far this season but a couple more positive results could see the Goodison Park side challenging in the top six.

  1. The is no such thing as demanding you win a game anywhere in this league, you have to earn it,it could well be a tough game, they are fighting for there Premier lives,we have got to earn it with hard work and controlled passing, and put the chances away.
