Barcelona striker Luis Suarez faces a race against time to be fit for the Champions League quarter-final clash against Manchester United on April 10, according to Sky Sports.
The Red Devils and Blaugrana are due to face off at Old Trafford in a mouth-watering first leg, but the former Liverpool striker as work to do to be fit in time to feature.
The report states that Suarez limped off in the final minutes of Barcelona’s 4-1 win over Real Betis on Sunday night after spraining his ankle.
While it goes on to state that the Uruguayan should have adequate time to recuperate before the United first leg, it is certainly not ideal preparation for the Catalan giants in the build-up to the big game.
Barcelona star Suarez is a key figure in the Blaugrana attack and despite the South American getting older, is still adjudged as one of the best centre forwards in world football.
United fans will need little reminder of what Suarez is capable of, with the Uruguayan a menace during his time in the Premier League with rivals Liverpool.
The Red Devils supporters are dreaming of European glory this season after their momentous victory over Paris Saint-Germain in the last round.
However, United will need to be at their absolute best to stand a chance of eliminating Barcelona, regardless of whether Suarez plays or not.
