Liverpool and Wolverhampton Wanderers are both having incredible seasons.
The Reds currently top the table and are Wolves are set for their best-ever finish in the top flight.
Nuno Espírito Santo’s Wolves men will be reeling from their FA Cup semi-final defeat at the weekend, and news coming out of Liverpool will rub salt in their wounds.
The Reds’ assistant Pep Lijnders has revealed that Ruben Neves could be on their radar, as they look to strengthen once more in the summer.
“I know him very well, his ambition, his passion for the game, his professionalism,” Liverpool chief Ljinders told O Jogo.
“I know what he gives to the team and this type of player always interests us.”
The Wolves midfielder has worked with the Liverpool assistant before, during his time with Porto, and following his performances this season the 22-year-old is bound to be a wanted man.
Portugal international Neves was a key figure in his side’s promotion to the Premier League, and has been equally important during the current campaign.
Liverpool would have to part with a considerable fee to get their man, as he is tied down to a four year deal with Wolves.
If the promoted outfit were to lose their star man it would be a huge blow, however if Liverpool were to make a move for the midfielder it would be tough for Neves to turn down the opportunity.
