Tottenham suffered a major blow last month during their narrow win against Fulham after Dele Alli picked up an injury. After the game, the club revealed that the England international would not return to action until March.
Added to this was the fact that Harry Kane also picked up an injury and has been ruled out for an extended period of time which coincides with Alli’s time on the sidelines.
Alli is one of the most talented players within the Spurs first-team and also within the Premier League so this was expected to take a toll on Mauricio Pochettino’s team as they look to challenge for the title as well as secure a strong finish in the top four.
England captain Kane is reportedly recovering well, so much so that he is even confident of making a return to competitive action sooner than expected. Like his counterpart, Alli is reportedly also faring well in training and is do so at the NAS Sports Complex in Dubai as reported by Football.London.
The player also took to social media platform Twitter and posted a picture of himself running on a field with the word ”progress” captioning the post. As the season approaches the latter phase, Spurs are set to have to play in a number of demanding fixtures.
Meanwhile, Tottenham’s trophy drought could be set to continue after they were eliminated from the FA Cup and League Cup last month. They are still in contention for the Premier League and Champions League. Liverpool and Manchester City would be the two favourites for the English top-flight title. Pochettino’s side are not expected to win the Champions League.
