Lionel Messi continues to enthral and excite football fans all over the world, with few suggestions that the Barcelona star’s abilities are fading with age.
Although the Argentina international was on the sidelines with injury recently, he has returned to club action with some startling displays for Luis Enrique’s men.
As can be seen below, Messi has scored 14 goals in his first 11 games this season, giving him an average of a goal every 60.2 minutes.

When compared to the other seasons in the South American’s distinguished career, the statistics show that the Barcelona man has made the best start to a campaign in 2016-17.
Messi scored a match-winning late penalty against Valencia last weekend while he has also recently scored hat-tricks in the Champions League against Borussia Monchengladbach and Manchester City.
The Argentine is in consideration for an astonishing sixth Ballon d’Or award and is the favourite to retain the accolade early next year.
