Reported Rangers target Daniel Bachmann has suggested to The London Evening Standard that he wants to stay at Watford beyond the summer transfer window.
Back in April, Bachmann told The Scottish Sun that Rangers manager Steven Gerrard wants to bring the 24-year-old goalkeeper to Ibrox this summer.
The former Austria Under-21 international spent the 2018-19 campaign on loan at Kilmarnock in the Scottish Premiership from Premier League club Watford.
The 24-year-old did well during his loan spell at Killie, playing 26 times in the Scottish Premiership, twice in the Scottish Cup and once in the Scottish League Cup, according to WhoScored.
Bachmann told The Scottish Sun in April 2019 that there have been talks with Steven Gerrard’s Ibrox club Glasgow Rangers
The 24-year-old Watford goalkeeper, though, has suggested that he wants to stay at Vicarage Road and be part of the Premier League club’s for next season.
Bachmann told The London Evening Standard: “I’m keen to push on. I’m coming back on July 1 with the others and I’m looking forward to the challenge.
“Obviously I know Ben [Foster] has had an incredible season. It will be tough to get past him but football is all about competition and waiting for your chance. I think the competition will do us both good and I’m ready to play.”
Watford finished 11th in the Premier League table this season, while Rangers ended up second in the Scottish Premiership standings.
