Real Betis and Argentina star Giovani Lo Celso is hoping to join Tottenham Hotspur this summer, according to a report published by AS.
The South American player has been linked with a move to the Lilywhites during the past few months.
The 23-year-old reported Tottenham target starred for the La Liga side last season as he went on to make 32 league appearances, scoring nine goals.
Lo Celso also was impressive for Argentina during the recent Copa America as he went on to make six appearances, scoring one goal and recording one assist.
There is one hurdle that Tottenham may face in pursuit of the player and that is that they may have to fork out a hefty amount.
He only recently made his loan deal to Betis from PSG permanent and he is in contract with the La Liga side until the summer of 2023.
Lo Celso would however be worth the expense and is capable of developing into one of the best in the Premier League under the guidance of Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino.
He fits the profile of a player who can become world-class under the guidance of the Spurs boss.
Tottenham needs to bolster their side this summer if they want to finally end their trophy drought next season.
The Lilywhites have not won a piece of major silverware since they lifted the League Cup in 2008 but they can end that with a few smart additions this summer.
Tottenham need to sign a new striker who can score goals and support Harry Kane, after Fernando Llorente and Vincent Janssen have failed to do so during the past two years.
