According to The Daily Record, Boli Bolingoli-Mbombo is set to join Celtic from Rapid Vienna in the summer transfer window.
It has been reported that Bolingoli-Mbombo is in Glasgow to undergo a medical ahead of his £3 million move to Neil Lennon’s Celtic.
Replacement for Kieran Tierney?
Bolingoli-Mbombo is a left-back who can also operate as a left-winger, and for £3m, Celtic are getting a very good player who can only get better in the coming years as he is 24 years of age.
The former Club Brugge star is very experienced and will be a good addition to the Celtic side, but the concern is that he could well be a replacement for Kieran Tierney.
Tierney is one of the best and most promising young left-backs in Europe, and the 22-year-old has been linked with moves away from Celtic.
According to The Scottish Sun, Italian club Napoli and Premier League outfit Arsenal are interested in securing the services of the Scotland international left-back from Celtic.
Perhaps the reportedly imminent signing of Bolingoli-Mbombo is a sign that Tierney will be sold this summer.
