Glasgow Rangers are close to signing Manchester City winger Brandon Barker, with the 22-year-old winger due at Ibrox today for a medical, according to Sky Sports.
The Gers have revamped their first-team squad this summer under the guidance of Steven Gerrard, with the Light Blues desperate to win some silverware in 2019-20.
Rangers are well-complimented in attacking areas at the minute and have added the likes of Jake Hastie, Sheyi Ojo, Greg Stewart and Joe Aribo to their ranks in recent months.
However, it appears as though the Gers are ready to add another attacking option to Gerrard’s contingent in the form of Barker.
Rangers fans will be no strangers to the City attacker, who spent the 2017-18 season on loan at Scottish side Hibs, making 27 league appearances.
Since then the reported Gers target has spent time at Preston North End, as he looks to increase his amount of first-team football.
With little-to-no chance of breaking into the English champions’ first-team fold, Barker seems set for a switch to Rangers.
The report suggests a deal will be finalised today, with the Ibrox outfit to unveil the 22-year-old after a medical is completed.
Rangers are in European action tonight against FC Midtylland and won their opening league fixture 2-1 against Kilmarnock, courtesy of a late winner by defender Connor Goldson.
