With Leeds boosted by a last-gasp 1-0 win over Brentford last time out, another positive result on Monday would have the Elland Road outfit in excellent shape going into the new year.
Around 5,500 fans are expected to make the trip to Preston to support the visitors, who will fancy their chances of picking up a result against the 11th-placed outfit.
Monk has stated that the travelling continent shows just how big a club Leeds are and that it is important that the players show their best form to reward all those making the away trip.
“Again it shows the size of the club and the loyal support it has,” the Whites boss told the club’s official website.
“We have to go, as always, to do them proud. The fans are enjoying themselves and turning up in their numbers both home and away.
“I think they are enjoying what they are seeing and they understand this group is in its infancy in trying to get to where it wants to get, but it’s are on the right track int he fans are responding to that.
“They will be vocal as always and get right behind the boys from start to finish. It will be great to see so many fans and it’s our job to put a performance they can be proud of when they leave the stadium.”
