Former West Ham United goalkeeper Shaka Hislop has backed Manchester United striker Marcus Rashford to join the Hammers on loan in January.

The London side are said to be in the market for attacking reinforcements in the January transfer window, with Jonathan Calleri and Simeone Zaza seemingly set to be shipped out.

A loan deal for Rashford has been touted in the British press, with the England international centre forward not receiving much playing time under Jose Mourinho at Old Trafford.

When asked about the possibility of the teenage starlet moving to Slaven Bilic’s men, Hislop appeared confident that a deal could be struck.

“It absolutely will – I like Rashford a lot,” he told ESPN.

“There’s no club better at bringing young player through than West Ham.”

West Ham looked much more dangerous in the final third in their last Premier League game, winning 4-1 away to struggling basement dwellers Swansea City.

With Diafra Sakho harbouring a serious injury, Andy Carroll and Andre Ayew carry the goalscoring responsibilities on their shoulders currently.
