Harry Redknapp has told The Sun that Dele Alli is a key player for Tottenham Hotspur.
The former Tottenham manager believes that he has heard that the England international is “a great lad as well”.
Redknapp told The Sun: “Dele is striking a bit of form again. He is a key player for me, I’m such a fan of his. They tell me he is a great lad as well.
“He got badly criticised for his performance at Liverpool (in the 2-1 defeat) but he covered more yards than any other player by so much it was ridiculous. And yet he got criticised for not running or working hard after the game.”
Important player for Tottenham Hotspur
Alli is a very good and promising young midfielder, but the 23-year-old has not been in great form so far this season.
According to WhoScored, the England international has made four starts and one substitute appearance in the Premier League for Spurs so far this season, scoring two goals in the process.
The 23-year-old has also played four times in the Champions League for Spurs so far this campaign, according to WhoScored.
Tottenham are not in great form at the moment, and there is a chance that they will miss out on a top-four finish in the Premier League this season.
Spurs are 14th in the league table at the moment with 14 points from 12 matches.
