Tottenham Hotspur are never too far away from transfer rumours and the summer rumblings have started up only days after the close of the January window.

Talk in the British press today has stated that Mauricio Pochettino has made Crystal Palace winger Wilfried Zaha his side’s top priority to land at the end of the season.

Despite the Ivory Coast international having an excellent season to date and being a step-up on current options Moussa Sissoko and Georges-Kevin N’Koudou, there is another name that Spurs should look to.

The Times have this week stated that Tottenham made an enquiry ahead of the current campaign for Leicester City attacker Riyad Mahrez.

While Zaha would provide speed and trickery to the Spurs ranks if he moved to White Hart Lane, the current PFA Player of the Year could add end product to that list too.

If there is a chance that Pochettino’s men could tempt Leicester to part company with Mahrez, the Algerian star would be a much more-rounded addition than the Palace winger.

Despite the Premier League champions’ poor season to date, Mahrez remains a phenomenal talent – and Tottenham should break the bank to sign him this summer, not Zaha.

Good call, regardless of whether they go down or not, he’d be a great signing and no doubt will offer more than £30 million pound Sissoko who does a job but isn’t a right winger/forward, I was thinking he’d be more a replacement for Dembele when he’s injured or needs a rest but not where he’s been playing.
