Over recent transfer windows, leading Premier League clubs have scrambled for the services of some of Southampton’s rising stars.

The likes of Manchester United, Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur in particular have raided the south coast for reinforcements – with no sign that the trend will stop.

Star centre-half Virgil van Dijk is said to be attracting a lot of interest from the Premier League’s top teams, however for Spurs another Saint would make a more-fitting addition.

Mauricio Pochettino confessed over the summer that he wanted to add pace in wide areas and duly spent big on Moussa Sissoko.

However, looking to Southampton’s creative star Dusan Tadic surely would have been a more enticing option.

The versatile Serbian has established himself as a standout performer at the St Mary’s Stadium and has the turn of pace and trickery that would add another dimension to the Tottenham attack.

As such, next summer when a transfer scramble starts for Van Dijk, Spurs should look to the under-rated Tadic as a shrewd addition.
